How Does Attune Work?

1. Identify Needed Sensor Data

Our customers are interested in real-time data from the physical environment. They know they can’t manage what they can’t measure. With such a small portion of the built environment being digitized, there exists a real data gap. Our customers often know the specific set of mechanical, electrical, environmental (e.g., IAQ) or plumbing data they want, but can’t find the IoT hardware they need.

2. Add Attune Hardware

Most software platforms say they are agnostic to hardware; they are all waiting for needed hardware to show up. We built our own IoT hardware because we did not want any limits on the amount of real-time data we can ingest into our platform. Attune’s broad catalog of Bridge devices can interface with existing equipment (e.g., sensors, meters or devices), interface with existing infrastructure (e.g., BAS), or can bring new sensor functionality (e.g., IAQ) to a site.

3. Put Your Data To Work

Same-day installation and commissioning makes data available immediately. Our IoT Platform will let you define the custom analytics, dashboards, alerts/notifications, reports and controls you need. Developed hand-in-hand, our hardware and software integrate seamlessly to connect real-time data streams from our own IoT Edge devices to Attune’s Application Services such as dashboards, alerts/notifications, reports, and controls.

The highest quality sensors, seamless design, and an easy plug-and-play platform that won’t go out of date. These are our building blocks.

  • The Gateway

    A single Gateway automatically aggregates and uploads all sensor data from the Nodes and Bridges to Attune’s cloud platform and user interfaces (e.g., dashboards).

    Installing the Gateway simply requires plugging it into a standard wall outlet, and connecting to an Internet connection.

  • The Node

    Nodes act as relays, automatically finding the Gateway to funnel sensor data to it as soon as they are powered. No network configuration required. Multiple Nodes also find and connect to each other wirelessly and automatically create a mesh network.

    Each solution-ready Node automatically supports multiple pre-built Bridge devices for rapid configuration to your data needs.

  • The Bridge

    Bridges attach to any Node via a Universal Sensor Interface port. Bridges can incorporate and collect data from sensors (e.g., IAQ) or can support common analog interfaces or digital communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, BACnet).

    Up to three Bridges can connect to a single Node.

The IAQ Solution.

Our Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) solution bundles the necessary building blocks (Node, Bridges, and Sensors) into a single device that is designed specifically for collecting IAQ data.

Simply plug the IAQ device into a power source and IAQ sensor data will start flowing to the nearest Gateway.

Interested in real-time ionization detection too? Our first-to-market solution is a variation of the IAQ bundle (IAQ-I) which comes in a larger enclosure that includes an ion sensor to measure the effectiveness of bipolar ionization and air health.

  • User-configured data transformations will create analytics, KPIs, or other reporting metrics using a real-time stream processing engine upon ingestion in the cloud. The resulting real-time analytics can be used to trigger dashboard visualizations, alerts and controls.

  • The cloud platform enables users to establish and modify configuration settings for IoT Edge hardware. The cloud pushes the configuration settings to the Nodes and Bridges to effect customization at the outermost edge of the network. Required time on-site for installation and commissioning is drastically reduced.

  • The cloud provides a User Management tool that allows customers to define who has access to the different dashboards and installations in their organization. Customers can also invite Users and create Teams, wherein each Team can have a unique set of Users, Permissions (e.g., View Only or Modify/Delete) and Notifications.

  • The cloud includes a full set of web interface UI/UX tools that connects real-time data streams to user-configurable services such as data transformations/analytics, dashboards, alerts/notifications, reports and controls. The intuitive workflow ensures rapid commissioning and maintenance of Application Services.

  • The cloud ingests data, and produces custom analytics while the data is in flight. Real-time data and real-time analytics can be forwarded in real-time to customer servers as needed for customer-developed Application Services.
